A broken dryer costs you at the laundromat every day it sits. When we open in October 2026, Kodiak Calgary techs plan to show up same-day with the right parts for every major dryer brand.
Most common call. Usually a heating element, thermal fuse, or igniter. Deep dive →
Could be a clogged vent duct, weak heating element, or faulty thermostat.
Door switch, start switch, belt, or control board problem.
Broken drive belt or seized motor — we carry both on the truck.
Drum support rollers or bearing wear. Caught early, cheap to fix. Deep dive →
Lint buildup or faulty thermostat — a fire risk. We fix it fast.
Thermal overload protection tripping. Often a vent blockage issue.
Modern dryers come in six main configurations — each with its own access challenges and labour realities. Here’s what we service. Note: we service electric dryers only — gas dryers require certification we don’t currently hold.
The standard. Front-mounted round door, vented through a duct to the outside, all major brands. The most common dryer we service.
Modern condensing dryers with a water tank instead of a vent. Growing category in newer Calgary condos and townhomes. Sealed-drum sensors and inverter compressors mean we’ll diagnose on arrival before quoting.
Newer models quoted on-siteDryer mounted on top of a washer via a stack kit. Labour runs higher than freestanding because the dryer often has to come off the washer first — we quote on diagnosis.
Single-cabinet washer + dryer with the dryer up top (Whirlpool, Kenmore, Frigidaire style). We service most models. On units 15+ years old, parts can be discontinued — in that case we’ll tell you honestly.
Parts availability mattersSingle unit that washes AND dries (Samsung WashTower, LG WashCombo, GE Profile ventless). The dry side is heat-pump or condenser based. We service most; newer sealed-drum systems diagnosed on-site.
Newer models quoted on-siteLess common configuration — front-load dryer mounted on a wall shelf above a top-load washer. We service it; the bracket / shelf install affects labour.
You get a firm labor quote before we start. Parts shown separately on your invoice — no hidden fees, no hourly rates.
Every Kodiak job comes with liability insurance and a parts-and-labour warranty. Your home is protected — and so is the repair.
We service all major dryer brands sold in Canada, including:
Labour for most dryer repairs typically falls in the $220–$350 range — whether it's parts replacement (heating element, thermal fuse, belt) or a labour-only fix (drum alignment, sensor reset). Parts are quoted separately when needed. Both labour and parts shown clearly on your invoice before we touch anything.
Parts replacement or labour-only. Parts quoted separately when needed.

We confirm your appointment — once we open, same-day for most morning bookings.
Your technician texts when on the way with a 3-hour arrival window.
Tech checks heating element, thermostat, duct, and motor.
Flat-rate labor, parts quoted separately. You approve both before we start.
Heating elements, belts, fuses, and thermostats are on the truck. Most dryer repairs done same visit.
Usually a partially blocked vent duct or a failing heating element. A clogged duct is also a fire hazard — we check it on every dryer call. Consider adding dryer duct cleaning to the visit.
Both are common, and both cause the same symptom (no heat). Our tech will diagnose which one on the spot — it takes about 10 minutes with the right tools.
If the repair is under 50% of replacement cost and the machine is under 10 years old, repair almost always wins. We'll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
When we open in October 2026, we plan to offer same-day appointments for morning bookings across Calgary and the Capital Region. Join the waitlist to be one of the first to book.
