All major fridge form factors
Refrigerators come in six common layouts, and the layout decides how a repair runs — where the coils sit, how far the machine has to come out, and whether there is a dispenser in the door. Here is what we service.
Top freezer
The simplest layout and the easiest to work on — the compressor and coils sit at the back, reachable without moving much. Defrost faults and door seals are the common calls.
Bottom freezer
Fresh food at eye level, freezer in a drawer below. The drawer rails and the drain line beneath the evaporator are what we see most.
French door
Two doors over a freezer drawer. More hinges, more gaskets and a dispenser line in one of the doors, so there is simply more that can leak.
Counter-depth
Built to sit flush with the cabinets. Shallower cabinet, tighter clearance behind, and the doors need room to swing clear of the counter edge.
Side by side
Full-height freezer alongside the fresh food. Almost always has a through-the-door dispenser, and that is where the ice and water faults are.
Built-in column
Set into cabinetry with a trim panel and no visible feet. Comes forward on rails for service, and the panel goes back on properly afterwards.

Common questions
My fridge died — repair or replace?
On a fridge under eight years old, repair usually wins — the common faults at that age are fans, defrost components, seals and controls, and all of them are worth fixing. Much older than that, and the maths shifts — we will lay out what the repair costs against what the appliance has left. Our tech will give you a straight answer — and the math — before you decide.
Is ice maker repair worth it?
Usually yes. An ice maker is a self-contained assembly rather than a system, which makes it one of the more predictable fridge repairs to quote and to do.
What fridge problems do you handle?
The common ones: water on the floor, a compartment that freezes what shouldn’t be frozen, a drain that keeps backing up and icing over, a door seal that no longer seals, and control boards, thermostats or sensors reading wrong. Ice makers too. If you can describe what the fridge is doing when you get in touch, we can usually tell you what we’re looking at before anyone drives out.
How long will the repair take?
Most fridge repairs are done on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, we’ll book a return visit once it arrives.
